We have hd so much snow lately that pretty much every time I have skied it has been a powder day! After a few days of sunshine the off piste that is easily accessible has been skied out - so time for a little bit of touring! So out came the touring skis and skins and I headed up onto Rendl and the top of Riffel II and over the ridge into Hinter Rendl again. A
fter taking the high traverse it was a short skin up for about 40 minutes and we were at the top of the Riffelscharte and looking down into the Malfontal. The first 200 metres were over some crappy avalanche debris but then it was untracked powder pretty much all the way down to the track out of the valley.
